As part of my New Year's Resolution to blog more, and to find a way to get me outside my photographic comfort zone, I have joined the Beautiful Beasties Pet Photographers Network. One of the groups is the 52 Week Project. Each week, a topic is chosen, and each member shoots their interpretation. This week's topic: "A Day in the Life" What do our pets do all day? Take photos throughout the day and post our favorites to show what our pet does. For me, that is Master Fionnlaugh (Fionn). He is my 2 1/2 year old active Border Collie who is training for Herding and is my project dog for my Karen Pryor Instructor Certification. So, Fionn gets a LOT of work each day. We train at least twice a day for my class exercises, and goes to herding practice twice a week, and agility practice once a week. Here was his Sunday!
This is Fionn at herding practice. We had already been out to work 4 times, and he was "resting" on the deck. Even resting he is intent on what the other dogs are doing with his goats and sheep, never missing a beat!
After 3 hours at herding, it was off to Auntie Peggy's house for some distraction based training. The Bassett Hounds next door were "yorping" up a storm as Fionn was practicing his targeting. Here is Fionn, wondering why nothing is being dispensed from his Treat 'n Train... uh... I did not ask for the down yet Fionn... Awe, come on mom.....
Again at Auntie Peggy's, at the end of his homework, targeting his "Away to Me" exercise. He had just bumped his target and was going back for his reward.
Fionn then got to run around while we tossed Frisbees for two other Border Collies: Wisp (my 1 year old), and Wisp's Mom Bonnie. Here is Mr. Wisp with his Frisbee! What you don't see is Fionn, just outside the photo, stalking Mr. Wisp and his frisbee!
After a long, hard day of training and playing, Fionn is back home with his Sheepie toy, ready to go to sleep.
Hope you enjoyed Fionn's Day in my Life! Please check out the next link in our Ring: Lina Tay, Petlense Photography, Wichita KS
