Last week it was announced Field and Ranch Photography is an Aspiring Member of HeARTs Speak. This is a wonderful organization of artists  that collaborate to help adoptable animals in need. I am so proud to be associated with this group! Check out their website: http://www.heartsspeak.org.

This past weekend I was in Hempstead TX at the Houston Area Herding Association AKC herding trial. I had my young boy Fionn entered in PT. He was stellar and even did a pen of the sheep. We had never attempted this before, nothing like doing it the first time at a trial! He finished his title with another great run on Sunday. Of course I had my camera out, taking shots for the friends I traveled with, catching all their great moments. I do love shooting these wonderful working dogs. It had been raining and I took advantage of the puddles all over the course, here is Domino a BC from North Texas.

I've also been busy these past two weeks doing shoots for the North Texas Boston Terrier Rescue Calendar. This is a fund raiser this wonderful group does every year. This year I have the honor of being the principal photographer for this effort. The months and cover are auctioned then I plan each month's shoots and coordinate with photographers in the areas where the winners live. Each of us donates our studio time. I am doing the months for the winners in the DFW area. It has been grand meeting the winning owners and their wonderful rescues!  I've learned that Bostons are little bundles of live energy! So far I have shot August, December, June, March and October last week and will be doing January, April, July and May this and next week!
